Video of the Week: Garmin Sharp

It may not be new, but this video created by Garmin Sharp to advertise their Garmin Sharp 510 and 810 devices is a must see.

For one, the photography and sound are realistic, as is the concept and scenery. It starts in the home of Dan Martin who is seen sending a message via his PDA, which connects to the device on his bicycle as he goes to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

In the next scene his garage door is opening and he takes out his bicycle–a great shot for any cycling aficionado who is tired of seeing cars coming out of driveways. He pulls out on his bike and rides straight up a cobblestone street in Spain.

In the next scene we see another rider whose ID is not made immediately, he is sitting at a table reading and eating breakfast when a message comes in showing Martin’s ride traveling up the mountain. He takes a look, and gets out on his bike too.

The rest you’ll have to see for yourself. Though the end is totally cornball, this mini-masterpiece is funny, beautifully executed, and inspiring for the rest of us who need that little push to get up in the morning.

Ah, but if we could all live in tidy little houses by the sea in El Port de la Selva, Spain!
