May 14, 2024–New York–Taiwan
As many of you may already know, actor Alec Baldwin was arrested yesterday for biking the wrong way on a New York street, by two female police officers.
Apparently his arrest had to do with not supplying an ID when asked, and unleashing a torrent of F-bombs when they decided to cuff and arrest him.
It’s not that Baldwin hasn’t been noted for his big mouth before.
He was given a disorderly conduct citation and released.
Apparently the dichotomy of arresting cyclists for riding the wrong way on a street while motorists who mow down cyclists and pedestrians rarely step foot in jail is just too ridiculous for even the most polite celebrity to bear.
Taiwan Animators’ take on the whole situation renders this whole episode in its appropriate light.
Thanks Taiwan, all we needed was a little perspective.
In the meantime, Baldwin appropriately (we think) tweeted his opinion on the whole matter–“New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign.”
