Olympic Silver medalist will be hosting the VIP area of the first Six Day race to be held in the United States since World War II.
You can just imagine he’ll be talking up a storm about team tactics while the very important persons who fork over $75 for their places in the infield, are chomping on locally-influenced dishes.
The event , Hollywood Championship Cycling, is the first of it’s kind since the track race format disappeared in the 1940’s, and is being put on by another Olympian and Silver World medalist, Jack Simes. The first race starts tonight at 6 PM with two other nights of action on Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets for the regular event can be purchased online or directly at the StubHub Stadium in Carson, CA. For those of you who can’t make it, Cyclists International will be hosting the webcast on Sunday night from about 7:15 PM to about 11:15 PM Pacific time.
Racers racing, a DJ spinning the latest tunes, and sprinters sprinting, what more could you ask for at the half Six Day race?
The deal also includes beer, wine and margaritas, which can mean a really fun night with the easy gabber, Vails who lives in the San Diego area.
On Friday, Oct. 11 (tonight) there will be a Latin Bienvenido menu featuring your choice of carne asada, (sizzling sirloin), or Pescado Veracruz, (pan-seared snapper,) with sides of mushroom and spinach quesadillas, and papas (potatoes) Jalisco—YUM!
The other two nights feature equally delightful menus, but it’s about the adventure isn’t it?
