More Reasons to Bike to Work: $1 Million for Parking

If you missed bike to work day on May 18, don’t worry. Soon your pocket book will tell you to ditch your car and ride.

An article published recently in The Real Deal Magazine records the spiraling costs of parking space in New York City.

The latest: $ 1 million dollars asking price for the purchase of a parking space.

“It’s for someone who wants complete privacy,” said Dolly Lenz, vice chairman of Prudential Douglas Elliman, according to TRD.

“You can drive in and not be seen again. It’s for the type of person who finds that attractive. It could be a celebrity or a business person who is camera shy.”

The city’s Department of Transportation had better get busy finishing all those bike lanes they have promised.
